Participatory Governance: Table de développement social de Rivière-des-Prairies

The Table de développement social de Rivière-des-Prairies (TDS-RDP), for which the CDC Rivière-des-Prairies serves as mandatary, has adopted a flexible and participatory governance structure. The TDS-RDP's governance structure is recent, and its operation presents the characteristics of participatory democracy. Relations among the members are collegial and guided by a common interest in citizen participation and working together to develop a strong and independent community. The research project is documenting and analyzing how relationships between local actors are built, the effectiveness and efficiency of consultation practices, and the contribution of development officers to the emergence and reinforcement of a network comprising local actors.

EXPECTED IMPACTS

  • Document and analyze a local action system
  • Identify the indicators of integrated territorial development (levers, impediments, actors' contributions, etc.)
